“ Lovely, secluded ambience away from the buzz of Emperor’s Palace, giving it an exclusive feel. The food was delicious — my starter was a touch salty but still enjoyable. The live music was the perfect finishing touch. I’ll definitely return. ”

“ Returning to Reign felt like coming home. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed with genuine warmth, wide smiles, and a heartfelt greeting from manageress Busi, who remembered us by name—setting the tone for a truly special evening. We kicked things off with our all-time favorite: the Sweet & Spicy Nuts—a moreish mix of roasted nuts tossed in chilli flakes, spices, olive oil, and honey. Perfectly balanced between heat and sweetness, they’re a must-try whether you’re sipping drinks or looking for a tasty appetizer. I paired this with the Sober Melon Mule, a refreshing virgin cocktail with watermelon extract, lime, and ginger beer—utterly delicious. For starters, we indulged in Oysters, Octopus, and Seabass Ceviche—each a masterpiece in its own right. The oysters (four large, ultra-fresh) came two ways: with Tabasco pearls and with red onion in red wine vinegar—both bursting with ocean flavour and unique twists. The coal-fired Octopus was perfectly tender, complemented by chilli oil, smoked salt, and salsa verde. But the Seabass Ceviche stole the show: citrusy, creamy, with notes of chilli, coconut tiger’s milk, and lemon pickle—all finished with a crunchy rice crisp. It’s a dish we’ll reorder every time. A live saxophone performance created a romantic ambiance, elevating the early evening dining experience. Vegetarian and vegan diners won’t be left out—Reign offers inventive starters and even a standout Cauliflower Steak among the mains. Now, onto the mains... Mona ordered the Chermoula Lamb Chops, beautifully charred and glazed, served with caramelized onion purée, charred onion petals, and pickled cauliflower. The Hasselback Potato on the side—infused with truffle butter and cream cheese—made it a dreamy meat-and-potatoes combo. I opted for the Salmon, served on a luscious truffle sweetcorn emulsion with pickled daikon and shiitake mousse. Rich, flavourful, and cooked exactly medium as I requested—this dish was a symphony of textures and tastes. For dessert, we shared the Peach Panna Cotta, paired with toasted coconut ice cream, white chocolate shavings, and zesty citrus elements. Silky smooth, with contrasting textures and bright flavour bursts—it was the perfect finale, alongside a bold espresso. Throughout the evening, the energy was kept high with DJ TremHer spinning a vibrant mix that had us tapping our feet between courses. The vibe was irresistible—we ended up dancing till her set wrapped at 11pm, long after other diners had left. Thankfully, we had our dancing shoes on and a room waiting at D’oreale Grande! Special thanks to managers Buti and Busi for checking in throughout the night, and to our attentive and friendly server, Lungile, who made sure every detail was just right. Final thoughts: Whether you’re planning a romantic date night, a fun outing with friends, or a casual fine dining experience, Reign delivers on all fronts—impeccable food, warm hospitality, and a music-filled vibe that turns dinner into an event. If you’re up for it, you can dance the night away after indulging in one of the best meals in town. Reign has officially become our go-to for incredible flavours and a fabulous time. ”

“ A great fine dining venue with excellent service. I loved the live band, the music set the tone and mood for the evening (mellow and relaxing). In fact I never knew that this restaurant existed within the Emperors Palace venue. Tasted from starters all the way through to desert. The food was really good. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. Evening made.. ”

“ Reign was absolutely a great experience. I went there for restaurant week. The food was amazing, the attention to detail…immaculate! My friend and I went there to celebrate her getting a new job and they gave her a complementary dessert which I found was absolutely cute and appreciated all their efforts to make her night extra special. Live music definitely set the mood and it was a lovely experience. ”

“ I’d give it 10 stars if I could! The food, service, staff, atmosphere, and drinks were all top-tier. This place is definitely going to be a regular spot for me. I can't wait to try their breakfast and make Reign my go-to! Don’t sleep on their Seafood Risotto, looks simple but packs a world of coastal flavour. Their Lamb Chops? Succulent and well-seasoned. Get the Passionate Monarch & Tropical Crown, thank me later. Well done Reign! ”
